ICF Foundation was honored to participate in ICF Converge 2021, which happened this week from October 26-28, 2021. ICF Converge represents the global coaching community, challenging both attendees and presenters to push boundaries and explore new experiences. The conference was a record-breaking crowd and included more than 2,000 attendees from around the globe. The ICF Foundation’s work around pushing the boundaries of Coaching for Social Impact was featured in the Discover content group of the conference, which challenges attendees to look to the future and offer insights that will help the coaching community prepare for what may be ahead.
ICF Foundation believes that coaching has the power to transform individuals and mission-driven organizations. Our work in this area is a reflection of the passion and commitment of coaches to make a difference in today’s world. During Converge 21, our Board Trustees and Ambassadors shared the mission of ICF Foundation to equip coaches, chapters and ICF Credential-holders to accelerate and amplify the social impact of social change organizations. Additionally, we shared how the ICF Foundation works to equip and connect coaches with the tools and resources needed for pro bono initiatives, as well as provide space for chapters and networks to engage in discussion.
Collectively, the two ICF Foundation sessions hosted more than 200 attendees who committed to make an impact locally and globally. Converge 21 attendees were excited to share and find ways to get involved with social impact work within their community through the Ignite Initiative, to learn more about the research being conducted around social impact, and to connect in breakout rooms with other like-minded individuals. It was in these breakout sessions that many coaches experienced insightful ideas and ways to get started.
After the sessions, attendees noted that the information shared was essential in helping them take the next step in supporting their work in coaching for social impact. One attendee, Susan Went, who joined from London, England said, “Thank you for a great session – showcasing this inspiring work and outcomes.”
Robert Hoover, Ph.D., MCC , CSA shared his experience coaching female entrepreneurs in Keyna, describing it as a “wonderful experience and recommending that every credential coach participate!”
ICF Foundation Board of Directors Trustee Dumisani Magadlela shared his thoughts on the conference: “Sharing part of what we do at the ICF Foundation during the virtual Converge 21 gathering has been an incredibly exciting and enriching engagement. The sharing of the ICF Foundation sessions illustrated that coaches are well-positioned to help make powerful positive impact in our shared world.”
Around the world, ICF Chapters and Members at the event were invited to participate in the ICF Foundation’s flagship initiative, Ignite: Engaging Coaching for Humanity and the Planet. This initiative focuses the collective power of ICF Chapters, Members and Credential-holders within their networks and community! It only takes one coach to partner with one social impact organization leader to become an Ignite project.
