The 2023 ICF Global Coaching Study (GCS), which evaluates the size and scope of the coaching profession, is now available. Based on 14,591 valid survey responses from coach practitioners across 157 countries, the study highlights the significance of holding a certification or credential in the coaching industry.
The study reports that 85% of coach practitioners hold a certification or credential from a coaching organization, which is an increase from 69% in 2015 and 74% in 2019. This trend demonstrates a growing demand for credentialed coaches and underscores the crucial role that credentials play in establishing credibility and building trust with potential clients.
In addition, the study found that coaches who hold one or more credentials from a professional association earn a higher average annual income from coaching compared to those without a credential. This highlights the financial benefits of investing in a coaching certification, in addition to enhancing your credibility.
